Courtesy Jerry Battle

Chip Ellis parked the Star/G2 rig last night in Omaha Neb. about 10:30 pm last night and when he came out this morning it was GONE!

Chip found the truck, GUTTED!!!!! They got all of our stuff......the truck is trashed bad....they drove it down a dirt road at 80 plus and ran through trees and pot holes....and stole everything..... We lost the race bike, engines, pit bikes, 2 street bikes, tools. EVERYTHING!!

We are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the return of our race bike and three engines.

Call 229-924-0031 or 800-841-7827.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Call everybody you know that may be able to help!

Team co-owner George Bryce reports that his G-Squared transporter has been found abandoned on the side of the road in Omaha, Neb. The truck appears to have hit several tree branches and looks as though it had been driven down a dirt road. The entire contents have been stolen and a $10,000 reward has been posted for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators.

"The idiots that stole our truck must have been smart enough to know it would be impossible to get very far on the highway with that truck," Bryce said. "Chip [Ellis] had been scrambling all over town looking for places where someone could hide a rig when we got a call that it was seen sitting on the side of the road. The police and Chip made a beeline for the location and found the truck.

"You couldn't have picked a worse time for this to happen. We were loaded up for the road trip, plus we had picked up a bunch of new chassis' on the way. Everything is gone.

"This whole deal seems preconceived to me. It's like Chip was stalked, like someone knew what was inside. That rig is our home away from home and we feel completely violated."

Among the items missing at this point are six complete motorcycles, the team's race bike, a show bike, three S&S Cycle motors, three pit bikes, two spare chassis, Ellis' leathers and helmet, and all of the tools and equipment the group takes on the road.

"We're offering a $10,000 reward for any information that might help us catch these punks and put them in jail," Bryce said. "I don't know where they'd be able to sell this stuff because it's all custom made and numbered.

"Thankfully, no one was hurt. This is a big blow to our program but everything can be replaced over time. Chip's okay, and that's the most important thing."

Ellis parked the rig last night around 10:30 p.m. at an Omaha hotel. When he came out this morning the truck and trailer were gone. Anyone with details about this stolen equipment is urged to call (229) 924-0031 or (800) 841-7827

The tragedy is the second to beset the powerful team following the devastating injury to crew chief Ken Johnson in a non-racing-related accident June that led to the amputation of his left leg above the knee.

173 Racers Win Cash at BTE/Citgo SUNSHINE BRACKET NATIONALS!

Courtesy Tim Glover

(July 29-31 - Adel, Georgia) Some of the nation's top bracket racers packed the pits at South Georgia Motorsports Park to enjoy the CSR Division Two Sunshine Bracket Nationals, sponsored by Wheeler Motorsports. Racers braved the hot racing conditions for two complete races and a rain shortened Sunday event. A special 10.5 tire race and Gambler's races were held Thursday as a warm up for the weekend.

THURSDAY
Bryan Goethe from Jacksonville, Florida put on a show for the crowd when he used a 5.639 to defeat Melvin Horne of Glen St Mary, Florida for the $1000 winner's purse in the special 10.5 Limited Modified class, sponsored by Wheeler.

Gene Holton from Leesburg, Georgia defeated David Kehren in the Sportsman Gambler's race. Scott Richardson used his Camaro to defeat Jeff Keen of Palmetto, Florida for the Super Pro Gambler cash.

FRIDAY
Chris Weaver from Florida was the Friday Afco Super Pro winner in the Barker Trailer Sales Pace American Run for the Trailer. The legendary Chip Horton won the Dynatech Sportsman portion and Alyson Depriest was the Race Tech Jr Dragster winner.

Troy Williams, Jr from Bradenton, Florida outlasted a who's who of bracket racers from the south in CSR Division Two competition. Williams Jr, a former Million Dollar Race winner, used a .002 light in the final to defeat Dwayne Roberts, who turned it red in the final.

However, all was not lost for Roberts, who was the first racer of the year to take advantage of the Meziere Enterprises cash. Roberts made the run in round four of competition in Afco Super Pro. The R&L Carriers Miller dragster ran 4.710 on a 4.71 with a .000 light. Dwayne had only two decals on his car, the Meziere dead on decal and DragRaceResults.com. The lone semi-finalist was Kurt Damron, Jr from Fruitland Park, Florida.

Jeff Adkinson drove his '91 Camaro to a win over Woodville, Alabama racer Luke Bogacki in Dynatech Sportsman. In the final, Adkins used a .007 to Bogacki's .009 light for the win. The lone semi-finalist was Clayton Clark from Bowling Green, Kentucky. All three racers, Adkins, Bogacki, and Clark made big moves in the Nesbitt Performance Championship Points standings.

Eric Rodden made a move in both CSR Division Two and the Race Tech World Championship by defeating Brian Chason from Whigam, Georgia in Race Tech Jr Dragster. Rodden's '04 Race Tech was on target with an 8.763 on a 8.75, coupled with a great .037 light, but Chason hung the cherry for runner up honors handing the win to Rodden.

Stoney Gaskins from Valdosta, Georgia won his second four foot tall monster trophy this year in Jeg's Trophy when he drove his '65 Chevy truck to a win over Daniel Salyer's Monte Carlo.

SATURDAY
During eliminations Saturday, rain storms halted action at the BTE/Citgo Wheeler Power products event. The event was completed Sunday. Before the rain hit, the Barker Trailer Sales Pace American Run for the Trailer was completed, with Jeff Keen winning the Super Pro money. Kenny Bevins was the Sportsman winner and Eric Rodden was the Race Tech Jr Dragster winner.

SUNDAY
Saturday's event picked right back up where it left off and was completed Sunday. The MGM Best Appearing car award went to Jarrett Naumann's Lady Luck, Florida based '63 Chevy Nova. The MGM Best engineered car award was presented to Wade Lanier from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida for his '05 Mike Bos dragster.

Jeremy Bargo from Barbourville, Kentucky won his first ever BTE/Citgo event in Afco Super Pro by defeating Carey "CROW' Locke from Alamo, Georgia. In the final, Bargo was .010 to Locke's .014 on the tree, good enough for the $5,000 payday. The lone semi-finalist was "Flyin" Bryan Jones from Orange Park, Florida.

BJ Bianchi from Palmetto, Florida had a $2500 payday in Dynatech Sportsman when he defeated Shane Parker from Adel, Georgia. BJ used a .027 light and an 8.287 on a 8.25 for the win in his Mustang.

April Spell outlasted a large field of cars in Race Tech Jr Dragster for the win, big check and cash. In the final, Spell won a double break-out affair against Sarah Crosby.

Jeg's Trophy class was won by Lake City, Florida racer Daniel Salyers. Salyers took the win after Eddie Kinner from Port Charlotte, Florida hung the red light on the tree in the final.

In the Sunday edition of Barker Trailer Sales Run for the Trailer, Jason Kline from Gainesville, Florida went 5.360 on a 5.36 for the $200 and potential Super Pro first round bye. In Dynatech Sportsman, Willie "Grump" Gutherie went 6.660 on a 6.66 with a .006 light for the cash. Ladson Selph from Alamo, Georgia went 8.987 on an 8.98 with a .031 light for the money and first round bye in Jr Dragster.

Rains washed out the action for race three at South Georgia Motorsports Park Sunday evening. Twenty seven Super Pro drivers left with a cash split of a $8800 purse. In Dynatech Sportsman, the remaining eight cars all left with $800 each.

Gene Holton defeated Kelly King for the four foot trophy Sunday night in Jegs Trophy.

WJ Will Start Fifth in Sonoma

TMG Sports Marketing, Inc.

After reestablishing the Infineon Raceway elapsed time track record with his 6.689-second, 205.13 mph run on Friday evening, Warren Johnson knew he would not get bumped from Sunday's starting line-up. Therefore, the GM Performance Parts Pontiac Racing team decided to use their final two attempts on Saturday to fine-tune their set-up for raceday.

Although his Friday effort remained his run of record, and earned "The Professor" the fifth starting position, he still found a benefit from his solid Saturday attempts, gathering information that could prove valuable on Sunday.

"We made two decent runs today that gave us a lot of information. We were a little conservative on our clutch setting this morning, and it cost us a couple hundredths. I feel we should have at least been second, but we just backed it down a little too much.

"The only way to make the cars faster is to try different things. For example, this afternoon we tried a few things that Kurt had been running in his car to see how it would work. It seemed to slow us up a little on the back half, which we couldn't have predicted unless we tried it. However, at the very least it gave us a direction to go in. Overall, I'd say it was a very productive day, allowing us to learn a lot about our GM Performance Parts Pontiac. We're banking on it helping us tomorrow."

BAZEMORE LOOKS TO MAINTAIN MOMENTUM IN SONOMA

SONOMA, Calif. (Jul 30, 2005) - Whit Bazemore and the Matco Tools Iron Eagle Dodge Stratus R/T Funny Car team are picking up steam. Coming off two round wins in Seattle last weekend, he looks for more at the Fram-Autolite NHRA Nationals this weekend. He enters Sunday final eliminations in the 11th qualifying position.

The 1999 Sonoma winner is happy with the team's qualifying effort: "It's good. You have to keep in mind that we're still a relatively new team with co-crew chiefs Dan (Olson) and Todd (Okuhara) coming on board a couple races ago. So, we're still jelling and they're still feeling their way with the race car and their combination.

"In qualifying, we're not yet in a position to go for the pole, but we're working on that. The object coming into this race was trying to calm the Matco Tools Dodge down a little bit and work on our consistency going down the race track in qualifying, and that's what we did, so we feel good about that."

Two-time season winner Bazemore's best qualifying run came Friday night in the second session when he ran a 4.898-second ET at 316.38 mph. Bazemore's other qualifying runs included a 9.041/78.40, a5.151/236.84 and a 4.942/312.28.

"We feel like we have a good race day combination," he added. "The car is plenty safe and there is a lot of room to tune it up if we have to. All in all, it's been a very positive weekend thus far, and everyone is doing a good job."

Bazemore faces Tim Wilkerson in the first round of Sunday's Final eliminations.

Qualifying ends with Chip Ellis aboard the G2 S&S Buell ninth

RIDER: CHIP ELLIS

SONOMA, Calif. (July 30, 2005) – Under a clear sky and with a slight wind at Infineon Raceway, qualifying for the 18th annual NHRA FRAM Autolite Nationals came to an end today with Chip Ellis, aboard the G Squared S&S Buell, qualified in the No. 9 position.

The quickest run of four qualifying sessions for Ellis was a 7.131-second pass in the opening session on Friday.

Tomorrow Ellis will face Craig Treble in the opening round of eliminations. Treble qualified in the eighth position with an elapsed time of 7.123 seconds.

"G Squared and S&S Cycle are really happy our customers are doing as well as they are," said George Smith, partner and co-owner, along with George Bryce, of G Squared Motorsports. "Frankly though, the competitive side of me would like to see us, meaning G Squared, improve our performance.

"We need to be able to put more time into our own projects. We've need to bring out our new chassis so that we can return to the consistency and performance level we enjoyed at the end of last season. Also, so that all S&S engines perform to the high standard that has come to be associated with S&S, our longevity and breakage program, sometimes, has not allowed us to perform the way we would have liked.

"For tomorrow we are checking all our data, making chassis adjustments and tuning adjustments to enhance our performance during eliminations."

S&S ENGINE REVIEW: As noted above Chip Ellis qualified No. 9. Both Ryan Schnitz and Chris Rivas qualified in the top half of the field, Schnitz finishing No. 2 and Rivas No. 3. Matt Guidera qualified No. 14.

ELIMINATIONS: Ellis begins his quest for the Pro Stock Motorcycle title on Sunday with eliminations for all classes getting underway at 11 a.m. All times are local Sonoma time -- Pacific Time (PT): 3 hours behind the Eastern Time zone -- and subject to change at anytime.

TELEVISION: Two hours of qualifying highlights for the 18th annual NHRA FRAM Autolite Nationals got underway on ESPN2 HD this evening (July 30) at 8 p.m. The qualifying show repeats on ESPN2 HD early Sunday morning (July 31) from 3-5 a.m. ESPN2 HD will also air three hours of same-day television coverage of eliminations beginning at 9 p.m. on Sunday evening (July 31). The elimination show repeats on ESPN2 HD early Monday morning, August 1, from 2 until 4:30 a.m. Also, tune in to NHRA2Day on ESPN2 HD, the weekly show that gives you the latest information about the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. NHRA2Day can be seen on Sunday evening, July 31 at 8:30 p.m. Television times are Eastern Time (ET) and subject to change at anytime. Check local listings.

G SQUARED MOTORSPORTS: When Harley Davidson accelerated their effort in NHRA, S&S Cycle decided in 2002 to join the battle. Because of his vast R&D experience, coupled with his racing background, S&S asked George Smith to head their project to field a competitive S&S V-Twin bike on the NHRA circuit. Smith immediately asked George Bryce, who had been working with S&S Cycle on a similar project, to join the new endeavor and G Squared Motorsports was formed in 2003. Both Smith and Bryce knew if they collaborated on the project, joining the resources, knowledge and talents of S&S and Star Racing, they could produce a competitive bike to race in Pro Stock Motorcycle competition on the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. The G Squared/S&S-powered V-Twin Buell debuted in 2004.
