Only One Week until the Southern Nostalgia Festival at South Georgia Motorsports Park
The Southern Nostalgia Festival and Night of Fire at South Georgia Motorsports Park Oct 24-26 is shaping up to be a great event. Top Fuel/Open Fuel dragsters expected to attend include Lincoln Hassel, Adam Douglas, Bob Kolb and others, and the Southern Slingshots will bring their own special program. Red Coleman will have the Super Cuda in attendance, and other Funny Cars are expected including previous Top Fuel winner Kevin Sine and his new funny car. A special eight car field for Nostalgia Super Eliminator will include dragsters, blown altereds, pre 1975-bodied Pro Mods and anyone else who wants to run heads up. Dave Workman will have his dragster out. Nostalgia Comp cars include David Shaffer’s 334 coupe from Illinois and Dave Cox in the Hellzapoppin altered. Early entrants in the Gasser class include Larry McClendon, Bob Would, Clarence Cloud, and Roger McConnell’s Mighty Mouse. Saturday morning there will be a nostalgia circle track race, and Saturday evening there will be a cackle event, a jet truck, and a Halloween contest for the kids. Denny Fenstermaker will have his restored Roger Gates fuel dragster in the Memory Lane and he will be joined by 1974 World Funny Car Champion Shirl Greer and the Hemi Hurricane Willys of Bunky Bobo and others. There is also a car show and swap meet. BE THERE!
