Lucas, Scelzi, WJ and Hines Top Pro Qualifiers at the NHRA POWERade Summit Racing Equipment Southern Nationals presented by Pontiac

Morgan Lucas records his first Top Fuel #1 qualifying position in the Lucas Oil/Joe Amato car. Morgan ran a 4.541 @ 326.40 for the top spot.

Gary Scelzi is #1 in Funny Car with a 4.782 @ 326.87. Points leader Whit Bazemore is #12 (4.917 @ 318.17) and will face John Force (#2 in points) in the first round.

Warren Johnson picks up another #1 qualifying position in Pro Stock with his 6.749 @ 204.54. Kurt Johnsonis #14 with a 6.789 @ 204.23. The big surprise is that Dave Connolly failed to qualify in his new Cobalt with his 17th best 6.802 @ 203.09. He tied the 16th best ET, but lost the position on speed.

Andrew Hines leads Pro Stock Bike on his Harley V-Rod at 7.092 @ 189.87 . Chip Ellis is #5 at 7.159 @ 187.03.

Marty Thacker leads Top Alcohol Dragster at 5.435 @ 264.03. Georgian Dan Lucas (Cumming, GA) is #16 with his 6.536 @ 171.23.

Frank Manzo leads Top Alcohol Funny Car with a 5.644 @ 257.97. Mark Billington is #6 at 5.785 @ 251.58.
