Third Annual York US 30 Musclecar Madness July 9-10th
York, PA-The smell of nitro and the cackle of high performance engines will
transform the York Expo Center into a potpourri of performance at the Third Annual
York US 30 Musclecar Madness taking place this weekend, July 9-10th at the
York Fairgrounds, York Expo Center.

This year's show will be the most diverse of all with a variety of drag racing
performance vehicles, junior dragsters, top fuel dragsters, motorcycles, muscle
cars and street rods from the '60's and '70's era along with personalities Bill
"Grumpy" Jenkins, Ronnie Sox, "Miss Mighty Mopar" Judy Lilly, the world famous
"Winged Express" of Marcellus and Borsch, the King & Marshall top fuel dragster,
Hayden Proffitt, "Ohio George" Montgomery, Dick Brannan, Sam Auxier, Jr., Lou
Downing, Tom Sneden, Ed Hedrick, Bill Stiles, Jere Stahl, the York County Corvette
Club fun and judged event and a renowned group of gas coupe and sedan entries
from the East.

The show is dedicated this year to Harold Shorb of Hanover who recently passed
away. "Shorbie" as he was called was instrumental in establishing the first drag races at the York airport in Thomasville with the South Penn Hot Rod Council. He
founded the Hanover Rod and Kustom Klub and was a former police officer in the
borough of Hanover. "Shorbie" was a true pioneer of drag racing in the East and served as a Regional Advisor for the National Hot Rod Association for many years.
We are proud to pay tribute for his many contributions to our performance heritage.
We miss him!

The York County Corvette Club will present their first Fun & Judgfed Show and
expects participation from over 150 Corvette entries from throughout the East who will
be vying for awards on Saturday of the show in the Cruise In Plaza.

The Cruisin' Into Summer cruise in is expected to have participation from over 600
of the finest muscle cars and street rods in the country. A DJ will be performing both
days of the show, door prizes will be awarded every hour, and early bird cruise in entries on Friday will be treated to a cruise in to the Gettysburg Bike Week who
will host them on the square in historic Gettysburg.

The action packed show this year will higfhlight the first Legion of Honor awards
to twelve recipients whose contributions to our performance heritage will be
recognized with the presentation of individual awards and a perpetual award that will be placed on display at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing at the Latimore Valley
Fairgrounds, York Springs, PA. Recipients include posthumous awards to Dave
Strickler, and D.A. Santucci, and individual awards to Pork Zartman, Charlie
Seabrook, Jim & Alison Lee, George Cureton, Bruce Larson, Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins,
Harry Luzader, Jim Oddy, Bud Faubel, and Joe Jacono.

A popular feature of the show will be the East Coast Cacklefest which will involve
the starting of several race cars for the delight of the audience on Friday evening
at 7:15 pm and Saturday evening at 6:15 pm and 7:45 pm.

The event is a major fund raiser for the York County SPCA as the charity of choice by the promoters. A special auction will be held at 7 pm on Saturday with memorabilia items placed on sale for the benefit of the local SPCA. All funds from
the People's Choice voting, as well as, individual donations and proceeds from
special 50-50 drawings will be included in the contribution.

A special two day discount ticket is $20.00, single day tickets are $12.00, while
children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult. Parking at the show
is FREE. Show hours are Friday, July 9th 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. and Saturday, July 10th 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.
