Darrell Russell succumbs to injuries in Top Fuel crash at the NHRA POWERade Sears Craftsman Nationals

Darrell Russell, driver of Joe Amato's Top Fuel dragster and one of the most popular racers out there, died after a crash in the 2nd round while racing Scott Kalitta.

My condolences to the family and friends of Darrell Russell and Joe Amato Racing. I had the pleasure of chatting with Darrell at Commerce last year during a rain delay at the Southern Nationals. A genuine nice guy. Rest In Peace, Darrell.
