Bernstein, Bazemore, Anderson and Hines Lead Friday Qualifying at the NHRA POWERade Pontiac Excitement Nationals presented by Summit Racing

Brandon Bernstein is #1 in Top Fuel with a 4.489 @ 328.86. Bob Vandergriff is currently #5 ( 4.549 @ 322.58 ).

Whit Bazemore continues his hot streak with a 4.774 @ 325.92 pass that is good for both ends of the track record and the #1 spot in Funny Car.

Greg Anderson leads the Pro Stock field with a 6.822 @ 200.92.
Kurt Johnson ( #4 - 6.849 @ 201.37 )is the only Georgian currently qualified in Pro Stock as Warren Johnson ( #18 - 6.896 @ 200.53 ) and Mark Whisnant ( #21 - 6.908 @ 199.82 ) miss the cut during first day Pro qualifying. Mark Whisnant was uninjured after hitting the retaining wall in first round qualifying. Earlier this month Barry Grant had announced that he would not attend the next few races while he regroups and finishes his engine building shop.

In Pro Stock Bike, Andrew Hines leads the way with a 7.140 @ 187.00 on his Harley. Fred Collis debuted the G Squared/S&S/Star Racing Buell in NHRA action with an 8th best 7.253 @ 181.11.
