Hemi Hurricane added to Southeastern Dragway's 50th Anniversary Celebration August 6

I've just been informed that Bunky Bobo will bring his "Hemi Hurricane" Willys Gasser to Dallas, GA for Southeastern Dragway's rescheduled 50th anniversary race. The Bobo family had just finished the restoration of the Hemi Hurricane in time for the 2005 National Hot Rod Reunion and won the Best of the Best - Memory Lane category when they made that event their first outing with the car. This great looking car had been raced at Dallas in the 1960s.

The headliners for the race are nitro burning nostalgia (or classic style) funny cars. Virgil Hartman (two cars - Mustang and Trans Am), Rob Bruce (Zombie Charger), Steve Nichols (Mill Road Boys Camaro), Rick Stambaugh (Corvette), Donnie Reeves (Mustang) and Troy Martin (Chi-Town Hustler Charger) will be bringing their nitro powered funny cars. Two alky funny cars will also be in attendance (Big Sexy's Mustang and Don Burge's Soul Shaker Vette). Gary Fore will be adding more fire and smoke with his jet funny car. Bob Gibson and Dale Wilson will have their front engine dragsters on hand, also.

Add in all the bracket cars and the Dallas pits will be packed. This should be even bigger and better than the first attempt on July 9th!
